Job description
An established professional tree care team in New Zealand is seeking two Climbing Arborists to join its growing operation. This opportunity is aimed at experienced arborists who can demonstrate their qualifications, practical skills and ability to work safely and independently at height. The role covers a broad range of tree care rather than repetitive work. You could be working on technical removals one day, commercial projects the next, or detailed residential tree work. The team takes a considered approach to each job, with safety planning, quality workmanship and tree retention at the centre of its operations.
Requirements
- • Carry out climbing arborist work across commercial, rural and residential environments
- • Undertake pruning, crown reductions and technical tree removals
- • Complete controlled tree dismantling and removal using appropriate rigging systems
- • Work on both large commercial contracts and smaller residential projects
- • Assess individual trees and work areas before commencing operations
- • Plan climbing and removal activities around site conditions and identified hazards
- • Use climbing, cutting, rigging and arboricultural equipment correctly
- • Coordinate effectively with ground crew throughout climbing and removal operations
- • Operate specialist tree care machinery and equipment where required
- • Follow company safety procedures and industry-standard arboricultural practices
- • Take appropriate measures to protect property, retained trees and surrounding vegetation
- • Maintain tools, climbing equipment, machinery and PPE in good working condition
- • Participate in scheduled training and skills development
- • Support emergency tree work and callout services when required
- • Deliver consistent workmanship while maintaining a professional attitude
