Job description
An established Australian technical service operation is looking for an experienced Electrician / Electrical Field Service Technician to work with commercial catering and foodservice equipment. This opportunity is aimed at electrical professionals who have more than theoretical knowledge—they can demonstrate what they have achieved on the job. If you have a solid employment history, recognised trade qualifications and practical experience diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment, this role provides an opportunity to put those skills into a specialised Australian service environment. The position combines mobile field service with technical troubleshooting, equipment repairs, testing, commissioning and workshop support. You will deal with different equipment and technical challenges, making practical judgement calls to get customers' equipment operating safely and reliably.
Requirements
- • Diagnose and resolve electrical faults in commercial catering and foodservice equipment
- • Carry out servicing, maintenance, testing and electrical repairs
- • Investigate equipment breakdowns and establish the root cause of electrical faults
- • Use appropriate electrical test instruments and diagnostic methods
- • Inspect wiring, controls, circuits and electrical components
- • Repair or replace damaged or faulty electrical components
- • Perform electrical wiring and equipment modifications where appropriately licensed
- • Attend customer locations for breakdowns, servicing, warranty work and repairs
- • Test equipment after repairs to confirm safe and effective operation
- • Install, set up and commission new commercial equipment
- • Provide technical assistance to customers and other service technicians
- • Respond to electrical and equipment troubleshooting enquiries by phone and email
- • Assist with warranty-related technical investigations
- • Manage assigned service jobs from diagnosis through to completion
- • Communicate with manufacturers and suppliers regarding technical faults and replacement components
- • Identify and arrange spare parts required to complete service work
- • Coordinate with external technicians and contractors where required
- • Assist with equipment assembly and electrical preparation
- • Maintain accurate service reports and records of repairs and parts used
- • Support workshop and warehouse operations as required
- • Maintain professional customer relationships throughout service visits
- • Work in accordance with electrical safety requirements and workplace procedures
