Job description
Bring your proven vehicle-fitting expertise into a role where precision and practical capability matter. An established Australian automotive accessories business is looking for an experienced 4WD Fitter to install professionally engineered products across a variety of modern vehicles. This position suits someone who understands more than simply fitting accessories—you should be confident working around vehicle components, following installation specifications and delivering a clean, reliable finished product. Your employment history, technical experience and hands-on capability will be important parts of your application.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out professional installation of 4WD and aftermarket vehicle accessories
- Install canopies, trays, toolboxes, drawer systems and vehicle windows
- Remove, modify and refit vehicle components where required
- Prepare vehicles before accessory installation
- Install keyless entry systems and associated components
- Perform basic automotive electrical and accessory wiring work where required
- Work with modern petrol, hybrid and electric vehicles
- Check completed installations for correct alignment, operation and finish
- Use workshop tools and fitting equipment safely and effectively
- Identify fitting issues and complete appropriate adjustments
- Maintain high standards of workmanship across every installation
- Follow workshop safety procedures and manufacturer installation requirements
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in 4WD fitting, vehicle accessories or automotive installation
- Strong practical knowledge of 4x4 accessories and vehicle fitment
- Genuine and verifiable employment experience in a relevant automotive role
- Ability to demonstrate practical fitting skills through previous work experience
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional workmanship
- Automotive electrical and OBD experience is advantageous
- Valid Australian driver's licence
- Forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one with available training support
- Ability to work with a range of vehicle makes and models
- Relevant automotive qualifications or trade experience preferred
