Job description

A growing New Zealand manufacturer is seeking an Aluminium Fabricator with genuine hands-on workshop experience to join its production team in Taranaki, New Zealand. This role is suited to someone whose fabrication background can be clearly demonstrated through their previous work, practical skills and understanding of production standards. You’ll work on the manufacture and assembly of aluminium window and door products, where precision, consistency and safe working practices are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Fabricate aluminium window and door components
  • Assemble aluminium products according to production requirements
  • Measure materials and components accurately
  • Cut aluminium and timber using saws and workshop machinery
  • Drill and punch components with precision
  • Install glass and wedge units during assembly
  • Check finished products for accuracy and workmanship
  • Prepare completed products for dispatch
  • Assist with delivery activities when required
  • Operate workshop tools and machinery safely
  • Maintain equipment, vehicles and work areas
  • Follow established manufacturing procedures
  • Maintain required production and quality standards
  • Complete production tasks within agreed timeframes
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures
  • Communicate and cooperate effectively with team members

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 months of aluminium fabrication experience
  • Genuine hands-on experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment
  • Practical ability to fabricate and assemble aluminium products
  • Experience using relevant fabrication tools and machinery
  • Ability to accurately measure and cut materials
  • Ability to drill, punch and assemble components
  • Understanding of production quality requirements
  • Ability to follow established processes and instructions
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Consistent and reliable approach to work
  • Physically capable of lifting items over 20kg
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Professional and cooperative approach
  • Able to work efficiently within a busy production team
  • Able to work independently and take responsibility for tasks
  • Willing to learn new processes and develop existing skills
  • Able to provide verifiable evidence of relevant work experience
  • Eligible for New Zealand employment or applicable sponsorship support
