Job description

A full-time position is available in South Australia for a Baker with genuine hands-on experience in commercial food production. The focus is on finding someone who can demonstrate the skills, knowledge and work history required to perform confidently in a professional bakery environment. You’ll be part of an established production team working with modern equipment and producing breads and sweet bakery products to consistent quality standards. Your practical ability, attention to detail and reliability will be important from the beginning.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out daily commercial baking and production activities
  • Prepare, measure and mix ingredients according to established recipes
  • Produce breads and sweet yeast products to required specifications
  • Use commercial mixers, ovens and other bakery machinery correctly
  • Monitor dough preparation, baking processes and finished products
  • Maintain consistency in product quality, texture and presentation
  • Complete baking, preparation and packing tasks within production schedules
  • Apply food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling procedures
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean, orderly and production-ready
  • Work closely with team members to maintain smooth bakery operations
  • Prioritise tasks effectively during early-morning production periods
  • Safely handle ingredients and finished products, including items up to 25kg
  • Follow workplace procedures and contribute to efficient daily production

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working as a Baker in a commercial environment
  • Certificate III in Baking preferred
  • Relevant hands-on experience with commercial bakery production
  • Experience using industrial ovens and bakery equipment
  • Sound knowledge of baking processes, recipes and production methods
  • Ability to consistently follow specifications and quality requirements
  • Understanding of food safety and workplace hygiene standards
  • Ability to work from approximately 2:00am when required
  • Physical capacity to lift and handle up to 25kg
  • Reliable transport suitable for early-morning attendance
  • Current and valid driver's licence
  • Dependable work history and strong professional work ethic
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively within a team
  • Valid Australian work rights or eligibility for an appropriate visa
  • Ability to support claimed qualifications and experience with relevant evidence
  • Willingness to work in South Australia
  • Sponsorship available for eligible candidates with suitable qualifications and experience
