Job description
A senior bar opportunity is available for an experienced hospitality professional who can demonstrate the skills and track record required to take responsibility for a busy beverage operation. This position calls for more than strong bartending ability. The successful candidate will bring verified experience in team leadership, beverage management, stock control, service standards and day-to-day operational decision-making. You will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise while helping maintain a professional and consistent bar environment. Sponsorship is available for an eligible full-time candidate, subject to the relevant requirements and Department of Home Affairs approval.
Key responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the daily operation of the bar
- Lead, train and roster bar staff
- Set and maintain professional beverage and service standards
- Manage the cocktail, wine and spirits offering
- Coordinate beverage purchasing and supplier orders
- Monitor stock levels, wastage and beverage costs
- Maintain accurate inventory and ordering processes
- Develop and maintain operating procedures and checklists
- Improve workflows to support efficient service
- Ensure responsible alcohol service requirements are consistently followed
- Maintain compliance with liquor licence conditions
- Support beverage program development and menu improvements
- Work with the broader hospitality team to deliver a consistent guest experience
Requirements
- Minimum three years of relevant experience in a senior bartender or Bar Manager position
- Demonstrated history of leading and training hospitality staff
- Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine and spirits
- Practical experience with stock control and beverage ordering
- Experience monitoring beverage costs and inventory
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident communication and team leadership abilities
- Current NSW RSA competency card
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
- Valid Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship
- Ability to provide verifiable evidence of relevant employment experience
- Must meet the applicable requirements for employer-sponsored employment in Australia
