Job description
For skilled tradespeople, a strong application starts with credible qualifications and experience that can be demonstrated in practice. An established industrial employer is looking for an experienced Boilermaker to join its Queensland-based operations. This opportunity is suited to tradespeople who can demonstrate genuine experience across steel fabrication, welding and heavy industrial work, with the ability to contribute safely and productively in both workshop and remote-site environments. You will work alongside experienced industrial teams, supporting fabrication requirements while maintaining expected quality and workplace standards.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out structural steel and plate fabrication work
- Measure, cut, bend and shape steel components to required specifications
- Perform welding and related fabrication processes
- Prepare fabricated components for assembly and installation
- Work with the leading hand and wider fabrication team to coordinate daily tasks
- Interpret job requirements and deliver work according to specifications
- Maintain quality standards throughout fabrication and finishing processes
- Identify and address fabrication issues where appropriate
- Follow workplace health, safety and quality procedures
- Contribute positively to a cooperative team environment
- Assist with practical training and knowledge transfer to apprentices
- Complete line boring tasks when required
- Work across workshop and remote industrial environments as required
Requirements
- Recognised Boilermaking trade qualification or equivalent overseas qualification
- Relevant hands-on experience in heavy fabrication
- Previous experience in manufacturing, mining or heavy industry
- Demonstrated welding and steel fabrication capability
- Line boring experience will be viewed favourably
- Ability to demonstrate and verify relevant qualifications and employment history
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors and other tradespeople
- Availability to work Monday to Saturday, including occasional overtime
- Willingness to travel to remote sites when required
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening
- Overseas-qualified applicants with relevant and verifiable experience are encouraged to apply
