Job description
An established poultry breeding business is seeking a capable Breeder Farm Manager to take responsibility for flock performance, workforce coordination and daily production standards in NSW. This opportunity is suited to an experienced poultry professional who can demonstrate where their practical knowledge has delivered results. The successful candidate will bring together technical understanding, hands-on farm experience and people leadership to maintain healthy breeder stock and drive consistent operational performance.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of day-to-day breeder farm operations
- Monitor flock performance against production objectives
- Apply practical experience to flock management and breeder production
- Oversee bird health, husbandry and routine farm activities
- Maintain strict biosecurity and disease prevention procedures
- Ensure appropriate animal welfare practices are followed
- Coordinate staffing, workloads and daily operational requirements
- Supervise, coach and develop farm employees
- Identify performance gaps and introduce practical improvements
- Monitor production records and maintain accurate operational documentation
- Prepare regular reports on flock and farm performance
- Investigate operational issues and implement appropriate solutions
- Maintain consistent standards across farm procedures and activities
- Work with senior management on production planning and improvement initiatives
- Encourage a disciplined, collaborative and accountable farm environment
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in poultry production
- Demonstrated experience in poultry farm operations and team leadership
- Strong working knowledge of breeder poultry production
- Practical understanding of poultry husbandry and flock management
- Knowledge of animal health, disease prevention and biosecurity
- Understanding of applicable animal welfare requirements
- Proven ability to supervise, train and manage farm personnel
- Strong organisational and workforce planning skills
- Ability to monitor production data and recognise performance trends
- Strong verbal, written and reporting communication skills
- Demonstrated practical problem-solving ability
- Evidence of consistent responsibility within previous poultry roles
- Ability to verify relevant employment history, qualifications and professional experience
- Proactive approach to operational improvement
- Strong commitment to animal welfare, biosecurity and production quality
- Willingness to relocate within NSW
