Job description
Experienced Carpet Layer needed for a permanent full-time role with a family-run flooring business in Auckland.
The work is residential and commercial carpet installs in Auckland, New Zealand. Pay is discussed at interview. Hours are full-time, Monday to Friday plus a couple of Saturdays a month.
You start from one base each day and cover jobs for the business and its sister store. You prep, uplift and lay. You also help train an apprentice. The employer is accredited with Immigration New Zealand and can offer sponsorship through the AEWV.

Key responsibilities
- Lay carpet on house and commercial jobs, prep to finish
- Do uplift and floor prep, install to industry and manufacturer standards
- Run your own jobs and deal with customers in their homes politely
- Train and support the apprentice
- Cover installs for the main store and the sister store
Requirements
- 3 years' carpet laying experience at least
- Strong with textured and wool carpets
- Confident with floor prep, uplift and installs to industry and manufacturer standards
- High standard of finish, pride in the work
- Reliable and organised, runs own jobs
- Polite and professional in customers' homes
- Happy to mentor and support an apprentice
- Free for a couple of Saturdays a month
- Full NZ driver licence held
- Comfortable working from one base each day
