Job description

Your professional experience tells a story. This opportunity is for a Chef who can back that experience with genuine hands-on skills, professional standards and a consistent approach to quality. A full-time Chef position is available in Western Australia for a culinary professional ready to bring their existing experience into a structured and fast-paced kitchen environment. You’ll be expected to take ownership of your work, maintain high standards throughout service and contribute confidently as part of a professional team. The role also provides an opportunity to demonstrate leadership by supporting junior staff and apprentices while continuing to develop your own culinary career.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a range of quality à la carte dishes
  • Maintain consistent standards in taste, presentation and portion sizes
  • Complete food preparation efficiently before and during service
  • Manage kitchen responsibilities with minimal supervision when required
  • Maintain strict food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Work effectively across kitchen sections during busy periods
  • Monitor the quality and consistency of prepared dishes
  • Support junior chefs and apprentices through practical guidance
  • Lead by example and maintain professional kitchen standards
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams
  • Assist with stock preparation and day-to-day kitchen operations
  • Maintain an organised and safe working environment
  • Contribute to improving kitchen workflow and service efficiency

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience
  • Previous experience working as a Chef or in a comparable kitchen role
  • Demonstrated à la carte cooking experience
  • Strong practical knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques
  • Demonstrated understanding of food safety and hygiene
  • Ability to maintain consistent quality during busy service
  • Ability to work independently and take responsibility for kitchen tasks
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional attitude with a reliable and hands-on approach
  • Ability to support, guide and train junior kitchen team members
  • Willingness to work across day, evening and overnight shifts
  • English language proficiency
  • Australian work rights preferred
  • Willingness to relocate to Western Australia
