A growing hospitality business in Victoria is seeking experienced Indian cuisine professionals who can demonstrate practical expertise, reliable performance and a strong understanding of authentic Indian cooking. Opportunities are available for Curry Chefs, Tandoor Chefs, South Indian Chefs and Indian Cuisine Cooks. The role is suited to professionals with real commercial kitchen experience who can apply their skills consistently across restaurant and event service. Your professional experience, culinary capability and suitability for the role will be important considerations throughout the recruitment process.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare authentic Indian dishes according to commercial kitchen standards
- Demonstrate specialist skills in curry, tandoor or South Indian cuisine
- Maintain consistent taste, quality, texture and presentation
- Complete ingredient preparation and mise en place efficiently
- Manage multiple kitchen tasks during busy service periods
- Follow food preparation, hygiene and food safety procedures
- Maintain consistent portion sizes and cooking standards
- Work effectively with chefs and other kitchen team members
- Support food preparation for restaurant and event operations
- Keep preparation and cooking areas clean, organised and safe
Requirements
- Demonstrated professional experience in Indian cuisine
- Verifiable hands-on experience in a commercial kitchen environment
- Strong practical knowledge of curry, tandoor or South Indian cooking
- Ability to demonstrate consistent culinary skills and techniques
- Understanding of authentic Indian ingredients and preparation methods
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen hygiene and food safety practices
- Ability to perform effectively during busy service periods
- Reliable and professional approach to workplace responsibilities
- Strong teamwork and communication abilities
- Relevant culinary qualifications are preferred
- Candidates must meet the applicable criteria for sponsorship
