Job description

Professional kitchens need chefs who can do more than list experience on a CV. This opportunity is suited to a Chef de Partie who can demonstrate genuine hands-on capability, understands kitchen discipline and is ready to contribute confidently from day one. You’ll become part of a collaborative culinary team, working closely with an Executive Chef and experienced kitchen staff. The role provides exposure to different areas of kitchen operations while giving you the opportunity to build on your existing skills and establish the next stage of your culinary career. A 4-days-on, 3-days-off roster provides a structured schedule designed to support both professional development and work-life balance.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food to established quality and presentation standards
  • Demonstrate capability across relevant kitchen sections
  • Complete preparation and service tasks efficiently
  • Work alongside the Executive Chef and kitchen team during service
  • Maintain consistency in food quality, portioning and presentation
  • Manage multiple tasks effectively during busy periods
  • Follow food safety, hygiene and kitchen operating procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation throughout service
  • Uphold professional presentation standards in an open-kitchen environment
  • Communicate effectively with chefs and other team members
  • Assist in maintaining smooth day-to-day kitchen operations
  • Contribute to a positive, cooperative and professional team culture

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of professional experience in restaurants, pubs or hotels
  • Demonstrated hands-on culinary experience
  • Experience working across multiple kitchen sections
  • Ability to demonstrate genuine practical kitchen capability
  • Strong understanding of food preparation and professional kitchen practices
  • Ability to perform consistently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Reliable, punctual and professional approach
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • High standards of cleanliness and personal presentation
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
  • Availability for late-night shifts
  • Passion for food and willingness to develop professionally
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
