Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food in accordance with established standards
- Maintain food quality, consistency and presentation
- Manage assigned kitchen duties during service
- Prepare ingredients and maintain efficient food preparation
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety requirements
- Keep kitchen areas clean, organised and safe
- Assist with stock control and inventory management
- Assist with receiving deliveries and organising supplies
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Support other team members during daily operations
- Welcome customers and provide professional service
- Take customer orders accurately
- Serve food and beverages efficiently
- Respond to customer questions and menu enquiries
- Clear and reset tables
- Process payments and operate POS systems
- Maintain a professional and welcoming dining environment
- Assist with general restaurant duties as required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen experience for Chef and Cook applicants
- Demonstrated experience working with Asian cuisine
- Japanese cuisine experience is not essential
- Relevant Australian qualifications are preferred
- Genuine employment history that can be verified
- Practical skills that match the position applied for
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Reliable and professional approach to work
- Willingness to learn established workplace systems
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Commitment to long-term hospitality employment
- Valid Australian work rights
- Currently residing in Australia
