Job description

Project-based electrical work requires more than basic qualification requirements. Employers need electricians whose trade credentials, practical experience and technical capabilities can be clearly demonstrated. This opportunity is suited to experienced Electricians with a broad skill set and proven background across construction and heavy-industry environments. Brisbane QLD may serve as the primary location or project base, with travel requirements depending on operational needs. The role involves supporting a range of electrical activities while working collaboratively with other trades in a professional project environment. Accommodation and meals are provided where required for project assignments.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installation and maintenance across remote project sites
  • Install and maintain HV/LV cables and electrical systems
  • Complete switchboard and MCC terminations
  • Install and maintain motors, lighting and power systems
  • Carry out steel conduit installation and earthing works
  • Diagnose electrical faults and complete appropriate repairs
  • Support construction and heavy-industry electrical activities
  • Work alongside mechanical, plumbing and civil trades
  • Apply safe and compliant work practices across all tasks
  • Adapt to changing project requirements and site priorities
  • Contribute to efficient project delivery through teamwork and reliable workmanship

Requirements

  • Recognised Electrical Trade Qualification
  • Demonstrated and verifiable electrical work experience
  • Experience in mining, construction, civil or heavy industry environments
  • Current electrical licence appropriate to the position
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • UETDRRF004 – Perform rescue from a live LV panel
  • Nationally Recognised Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Ability to work a 2:1 FIFO roster
  • Ability to work in remote project environments
  • Strong practical problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Positive and adaptable approach to site work
  • Refrigeration tickets highly desirable
  • Certificate IV in Instrumentation advantageous
  • Fibre endorsements advantageous
  • ACMA accreditation advantageous
  • Certificate II in Split Air-conditioning and Heat Pump Systems advantageous
  • Willingness to complete required pre-employment checks
  • Sponsorship available for suitable eligible candidates
