Job description

An advanced Perth manufacturer needs two trade-qualified welders for full-time, ongoing work on modular power and data centre equipment.

The key facts are quick. It is structural and module welding in Perth, WA, paying $42 per hour, full-time. You work 40.5 hours a week, 6:00am to 3:30pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00am to 12:30pm Friday.

You will weld skid bases, frames and enclosures from engineering drawings and weld maps. Quality and compliance matter on every joint. The company is expanding quickly to keep up with demand for modular critical power infrastructure and AI data centre solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • GMAW weld with solid and cored wire on modules and structural work
  • Weld 530UB beams, 150x100 RS rafters and other structural members to drawings and weld maps
  • Weld flat, horizontal and vertical, following approved WPS
  • Work from technical drawings, weld maps and job specs
  • Prep, fit up and tack steel before welding
  • Check finished welds visually against specs
  • Help the fabrication team with general fabrication and assembly
  • Keep your area safe, clean and organised to company and WHS standards
  • Read job specifications before each task and work to them

Requirements

  • Welding or boilermaking trade qualification
  • Strong GMAW (MIG) on solid wire, with cored wire experience highly regarded
  • Pass a 2F weld test in mild steel
  • Confident and competent in flat, horizontal and vertical welding
  • Reads and interprets technical drawings and weld maps
  • Detail-focused and committed to quality, reliable, safety-conscious and a strong team player
  • Own welding helmet and hand tools
