Job description
Take the next step in your mechanical career by putting your proven heavy-equipment experience to work across major mining operations in Singleton, Newcastle, Maitland & Hunter NSW. This opportunity is suited to HD Mechanics who can demonstrate a strong employment history, recognised trade qualifications and genuine hands-on experience with large-scale mining equipment. Your technical background matters here — from the equipment you have worked on to your ability to diagnose faults and complete reliable repairs in demanding operating environments. You will join a structured mining operation on a 2/1 roster, working with leading equipment brands and accessing supplied tooling and opportunities for overtime. The initial engagement is for 12 months, with potential for extension.
Key responsibilities
- Service and maintain heavy mobile mining equipment
- Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled mechanical inspections
- Diagnose mechanical and equipment faults using systematic troubleshooting methods
- Complete repairs, component changes and mechanical adjustments
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment from leading OEM manufacturers
- Work with Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi and similar equipment
- Identify potential equipment issues and take appropriate corrective action
- Support equipment reliability and reduce avoidable mechanical downtime
- Follow manufacturer specifications and site maintenance procedures
- Maintain clear records of inspections, servicing and completed repairs
- Apply safe work practices across all maintenance activities
- Communicate equipment issues and maintenance requirements with relevant site personnel
Requirements
- Relevant trade qualification in Heavy Diesel, HD or Mobile Plant Mechanics
- Minimum 5 years of post-trade mechanical experience
- Proven experience working with heavy mobile plant or mining equipment
- Demonstrated experience across recognised mining equipment brands
- Experience with Sandvik, Epiroc, CAT, Komatsu or Hitachi equipment
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding capability
- Genuine hands-on experience that can be supported through employment records
- Ability to demonstrate relevant trade and industry experience
- Ability to work a 2/1 roster
- Strong commitment to safety and equipment reliability
- Willingness to relocate and work in the USA
- Ability to satisfy applicable visa and sponsorship requirements
