Job description

A busy Auckland landscaping team wants a hands-on Landscape Gardener to keep client gardens looking their best.

The job is full time in Auckland, New Zealand, at 40 hours per week, and part-time or casual work is also open. The hourly range is shown on this page.

Your days cover mowing, planting, pruning and tidying, using everything from chainsaws to power washers. The business is accredited and can sponsor the right candidate. You will also need the right to work in New Zealand.

Key responsibilities

  • Mow and care for lawns
  • Plant, prune, weed and trim to a high standard
  • Lead by example on every job and give clients excellent service
  • Operate and maintain landscaping gear: chainsaws, mowers, hedge trimmers, line trimmers, power washers and building tools
  • Talk clearly with clients and the team
  • Sort out client and team needs and concerns

Requirements

  • 2 years or more as a landscape gardener (hard landscaping ideally part of it)
  • Horticultural qualification held
  • Top horticultural knowledge and a keen interest in plants
  • Excellent communicator who can talk with clients
  • Works well in a team
  • Works well unsupervised
  • Follows instructions and meets deadlines
  • Full driver's licence for manual and automatic vehicles; manual training available if needed
  • Focus on health and safety, eye for detail, high initiative
  • Good physical fitness
  • Right to work in NZ
