Experienced MC drivers are wanted for permanent, full-time fresh vegetable haulage in South Australia.

The listing sits under Adelaide, SA, but the truck runs from a regional site in the state, and you must be ready to live near it. Pay is $110,000 to $130,000 a year. You report to the Transport Manager. Shifts follow a 7-day roster with start times that move around.

The work is moving carrots, onions and potatoes between farms and packing sheds for a large grower that sells to supermarkets, independent shops and export buyers. The grower will consider suitably qualified people who need visa sponsorship.

Key responsibilities

  • Haul produce between farm and packing sites
  • Run pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections and report faults
  • Secure each load and strap to National Heavy Vehicle Standards before you leave
  • Keep the truck clean and maintained, with all checks and reports done
  • Log produce carried, delivered and returned, keep records to company procedure and follow every safety rule and health and safety policy

Requirements

  • Unrestricted MC licence, current (essential)
  • High Risk Work Licence (essential)
  • Two years' truck driving experience, with the ability to drive a manual road ranger transmission
  • Strong work ethic and happy to be hands-on across varied duties
  • Flexible for a 7-day roster, start times vary
  • Accurate paperwork and a sharp eye for detail
  • Knows heavy vehicle laws and regulations including load restraint, plus basic mechanics and maintenance
  • Highly regarded: fresh produce transport, or tautliner and tipper work
