Job description
A strong trade career is built on real workshop experience. We are looking for experienced Panel Beaters who can demonstrate their automotive repair expertise through genuine qualifications, employment history and practical skills. The opportunity is aimed at professionals who understand vehicle body repair from assessment through to completion and can consistently deliver safe, accurate and high-quality workmanship.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect vehicles and assess the extent of body and structural damage
- Select appropriate repair techniques based on the condition of each vehicle
- Remove damaged panels, components and body parts
- Repair and replace panels to restore vehicle appearance and structure
- Straighten, align and reshape damaged body sections
- Complete welding and metalworking required for repairs
- Use specialist panel beating tools and workshop equipment
- Work alongside mechanics and spray painters during the repair process
- Check finished repairs for alignment, structural integrity and workmanship
- Follow workshop safety and OH&S requirements
- Maintain an orderly, clean and safe working environment
Requirements
- Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Demonstrated hands-on panel beating experience
- Strong knowledge of vehicle body repair and restoration techniques
- Experience with welding, metalworking and structural repairs
- Competence with professional body repair tools and equipment
- High attention to detail
- Commitment to quality and safe workmanship
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work productively in a fast-paced workshop
- Valid driver's licence
- Ability to provide genuine documentation supporting qualifications and work experience
- Sponsorship may be available under the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Subclass 482 pathway for eligible international candidates.
