Job description
A full-time opportunity is available in New South Wales for a Pastry Chef or Bakery Assistant ready to put proven practical skills into a professional bakery environment. We are looking for candidates whose experience can be clearly demonstrated through their previous work, qualifications and hands-on capabilities. From ingredient preparation and baking to operating commercial equipment and maintaining food-production standards, your practical background matters.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cakes, pastries and other bakery products
- Accurately measure and mix ingredients for production
- Operate commercial mixers, ovens, dispensers and bakery machinery
- Carry out baking and pastry production according to required standards
- Monitor products throughout preparation and baking
- Maintain consistent quality across daily production
- Follow food safety, hygiene and sanitation procedures
- Apply GMP and HACCP requirements during food production
- Maintain clean and organised preparation and production areas
- Clean and care for bakery machinery and equipment
- Safely handle materials and products weighing up to 25kg
- Support production targets and work effectively with the bakery team
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in commercial baking, pastry or food production
- Practical ability to prepare and produce cakes, pastries or related bakery products
- Relevant baking or food-production qualification is advantageous
- Understanding of professional food safety and hygiene practices
- Knowledge of GMP and HACCP standards
- Ability to operate commercial bakery machinery safely
- Strong attention to product quality and production consistency
- Ability to work efficiently within a team-based production environment
- Physically capable of lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 25kg
- Currently located in Australia
- Able to provide genuine supporting evidence for relevant work experience and qualifications
- Eligible candidates may be considered for sponsorship under the Orana DAMA
