Job description

Aged care RN wanted for a permanent full-time post in Coffs Harbour, NSW.

The pay range is $48.50 to $60.30 per hour. Shifts rotate across mornings, afternoons and nights. You report to the Care Manager at a not-for-profit provider's residential home. Initial 482 sponsorship is available, with pathways to permanent residency for eligible applicants.

The work is part clinical, part leadership. You nurse residents to best-practice standards, run the floor, coach the care team and stay in close contact with families.

Key responsibilities

  • Nurse residents to best-practice clinical standards
  • Run the shift: coach, supervise and guide personal care staff
  • Notice changing needs early and respond with clinical judgement
  • Build trust with residents and families, keep the environment safe, positive and inclusive, and follow clinical, safety and organisational procedures

Requirements

  • AHPRA registration, current
  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • At least 2 years' nursing experience, ideally including aged care
  • Aged care legislation and Aged Care Quality Standards knowledge
  • AN-ACC assessment know-how
  • Solid clinical grasp of ageing and age-related conditions
  • Confident coaching, mentoring and support of care staff
  • Good communication, conflict-resolution and emotional-intelligence skills
  • Positive, team-minded approach; competent IT skills
