Lead the floor at a lively Italian trattoria in Cairns and grow into management.

This is a full-time Restaurant Supervisor job in Cairns, QLD, paying $75,000 - $95,000 per year. The venue is family-run and open-air, serving homestyle Italian from breakfast until late, seven days a week. You run shifts, guide the crew and own how guests feel from arrival to the bill. Key responsibilities

  • Manage bookings, table flow and kitchen contact during service
  • Coach staff live on the floor and keep standards high
  • Recommend wines, suggest pairings and teach the team the list
  • Close up each night with the cash-up and daily checklists
  • Pick up rostering, training, stock and ordering, and look after regulars and first-timers alike

Requirements

  • Ideally 2+ years of supervisory or senior floor work in a quality, busy restaurant
  • Solid wine knowledge covering styles, regions and food pairings
  • Keen to keep learning about wine
  • A clear sense of great service and the discipline to keep it on a big night
  • Current Queensland RSA
  • RMLV, or willing to complete it on the way to management
  • Available on a seven-day roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Full Australian working rights
