Sales And Bakery Operations Manager

Job description

This role is for someone who knows how to keep a customer-focused food business moving. You will be responsible for coordinating daily bakery operations, supporting your team and helping create an environment where service quality, efficiency and sales performance remain a priority. We are looking for a hands-on professional whose previous employment and leadership experience can demonstrate their ability to take responsibility, solve day-to-day challenges and contribute to a successful operation.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the smooth operation of the bakery on a daily basis
  • Coordinate staff and provide hands-on leadership
  • Train and support team members to maintain service standards
  • Create a positive and customer-focused environment
  • Monitor sales performance and look for opportunities to grow the business
  • Manage stock ordering, availability and wastage
  • Ensure food safety, hygiene and workplace standards are maintained
  • Handle daily staffing and operational requirements
  • Identify practical improvements to workflow and business performance
  • Lead by example and remain actively involved in day-to-day operations

Requirements

  • Relevant experience in retail, hospitality, food service or management
  • Demonstrated experience leading, supervising or developing staff
  • Strong communication and people-management skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with commercial awareness
  • Proven ability to take responsibility for daily operations
  • Reliable, organised and comfortable working hands-on
  • Ability to perform effectively in a busy customer-facing environment
  • Bakery industry experience is advantageous
  • Applicants should have employment experience that can be supported through appropriate documentation or references
  • Must meet applicable New Zealand immigration and work visa requirements
