Key responsibilities

  • Meet stakeholders and pin down the business requirements
  • Turn requirements into technical designs and specifications
  • Build, test and maintain apps in React, Python, C#/.NET and JavaScript/Node.js
  • Design and run RESTful APIs
  • Hook apps up to SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Ship AI features such as LLM (large language model) integrations, chatbots and automated workflows
  • Prep data, then build, train and evaluate machine learning models for analytics, classification and prediction
  • Deploy to AWS or Azure cloud environments via CI/CD pipelines and manage the apps there
  • Write unit and integration tests, troubleshoot, fix defects promptly
  • Join code reviews; hold the line on code quality, security and performance
  • Produce technical documentation, test records and user guides, and give existing systems maintenance, enhancements and technical support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years' commercial experience in designing, developing and testing software
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Experience in React, Node.js or C#/.NET
  • Proven API design experience, plus work with relational (SQL) databases
  • Hands-on use of AI/ML tools and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn or the OpenAI API
  • Sound grasp of software architecture, testing methodologies and version control (Git)
  • Experience in Agile or Scrum teams
  • Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team
