Key responsibilities

  • Deliver professional haircuts, styling and colouring services
  • Consult with clients and understand their individual requirements
  • Recommend suitable styles, colours and hair-care services
  • Use professional cutting and colouring techniques to achieve desired results
  • Assess client needs and provide appropriate service recommendations
  • Build trust with clients through consistent and professional service
  • Maintain relationships with existing clients and encourage repeat visits
  • Manage a professional client column and appointment schedule
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service throughout each appointment
  • Maintain salon hygiene, presentation and professional standards
  • Work cooperatively with other stylists and salon team members
  • Contribute to a supportive and positive workplace environment
  • Participate in ongoing hairdressing education and training
  • Continue developing technical knowledge and awareness of industry trends
  • Take responsibility for the quality of completed services and client satisfaction

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional hairdressing experience
  • Strong hands-on experience in hair cutting and colouring
  • NZ Level 4 Hairdressing Certificate or internationally recognised equivalent
  • Relevant candidates with substantial practical industry experience may also be considered
  • Demonstrated ability to perform professional hairdressing services independently
  • Strong consultation and client communication skills
  • Ability to understand client requirements and translate them into suitable results
  • Genuine and verifiable professional employment history
  • Ability to provide supporting evidence of relevant qualifications and experience
  • Professional attitude towards clients, colleagues and workplace responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a professional salon team
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing education and skills development
  • Commitment to maintaining consistent professional and customer service standards
  • Ability to meet applicable New Zealand employment and sponsorship requirements
