A growing multi-brand dealership in New South Wales is seeking a skilled Light Vehicle Mechanic to join its professional workshop team. You’ll work across a range of passenger vehicles, applying your practical knowledge to diagnostics, servicing, repairs and inspections. This is a Monday-to-Friday position in a modern workshop with access to current diagnostic equipment, ongoing technical training and opportunities for long-term development.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose vehicle faults and determine appropriate repair solutions
  • Carry out mechanical servicing and scheduled maintenance across multiple vehicle brands
  • Complete logbook services and manufacturer-recommended repairs
  • Perform warranty repairs in accordance with approved manufacturer procedures
  • Use diagnostic scan tools and workshop equipment to identify electrical and mechanical issues
  • Complete pre-delivery inspections and relevant vehicle checks
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and OEM specifications
  • Document completed repairs and maintain accurate workshop and warranty records
  • Identify additional repair requirements and communicate findings to the service team
  • Follow dealership procedures, manufacturer standards and workplace safety requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organised and productive workshop environment
  • Participate in ongoing manufacturer and technical training
  • Work collaboratively with technicians, service advisors and apprentices

Requirements

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
  • Valid Motor Mechanic Trade Licence
  • Minimum 2–3 years of practical automotive workshop experience
  • Demonstrated experience in servicing, diagnostics and mechanical repairs
  • Experience working with different passenger vehicle brands
  • Ability to diagnose faults using modern automotive scan equipment
  • Ability to understand technical manuals, wiring diagrams and OEM repair information
  • Previous warranty repair experience is advantageous
  • Comfortable using workshop management and diagnostic software
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Reliable, punctual and capable of working as part of a professional team
  • Valid Australian driver's licence, preferably with manual driving experience
  • Ability to provide verifiable evidence of qualifications and relevant employment history
