Job description
A busy hospitality venue in Manly, Brisbane QLD is seeking an experienced Venue Manager to oversee daily operations, lead the front-of-house team and maintain consistently high service standards. This opportunity is suited to a hospitality professional with proven experience managing people, coordinating service, controlling stock and responding to customer needs in a busy venue environment. The successful candidate should be able to clearly demonstrate their professional background, operational responsibilities and hands-on leadership experience while contributing to efficient day-to-day venue performance.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of daily venue operations
- Lead and coordinate the front-of-house team
- Manage service delivery during busy trading periods
- Maintain high standards across customer service and venue operations
- Prepare and manage staff rosters
- Train, coach and develop team members
- Support staff performance and encourage accountability
- Manage guest feedback and resolve service-related issues
- Oversee stock ordering and inventory control
- Monitor labour, stock and operational costs
- Coordinate functions, events and special bookings
- Ensure smooth communication between team members and operational areas
- Identify and address day-to-day operational challenges
- Work hands-on alongside the team when required
- Create a positive, professional and service-focused workplace
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Venue Manager, Restaurant Manager or senior hospitality supervisor
- Genuine hospitality management experience that can be verified
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing hospitality teams
- Strong understanding of venue operations and front-of-house service
- Experience with staff rostering and workforce coordination
- Understanding of stock control, ordering and hospitality cost management
- Experience managing customer feedback and service issues
- Ability to manage functions, events and busy service periods
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Confident decision-making in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on approach to leadership and operations
- Professional attitude and ability to lead by example
- Relevant hospitality qualifications or equivalent industry experience
- Ability to provide appropriate evidence supporting employment history and claimed skills
- Ability to meet applicable sponsorship requirements
