Job description

Waiter, full-time and permanent, central Christchurch, New Zealand: four openings at a modern Asian restaurant with its own aquarium.

The pay range is shown on this listing. Expect at least 30 hours a week, with nights, weekends and the busy summer stretch on the roster. The work is fast: greet guests, run orders, take payments, reset tables and serve drinks within the liquor rules.

Key responsibilities

  • Greet guests and talk them through the menu
  • Take orders and run food and drinks to tables
  • Process cash and card payments and enter orders on the POS
  • Clear, reset and clean tables and the restaurant floor
  • Enforce licensing rules under NZ liquor laws with guests and management
  • Complete in-house food, beverage and service training modules
  • Promote dishes and services as the restaurant's policies require

Requirements

  • At least six months of experience in a similar role, or a Level 2 or 3 Diploma qualification
