Job description

A growing construction and renovation business in Queensland is looking for a Qualified Waterproofer and a Qualified Tiler to join its ongoing residential and commercial projects. We are looking for tradespeople who can demonstrate more than a qualification on paper. Your practical experience, previous project exposure, technical knowledge and ability to consistently deliver quality workmanship are important to this opportunity. The roles offer the chance to bring established trade skills into an Australian construction environment while working alongside experienced builders and site professionals.

Key responsibilities

  • Complete waterproofing installations across bathrooms, balconies, wet areas and structural surfaces
  • Prepare substrates and surfaces before waterproofing applications
  • Install membranes, seals and waterproofing systems according to project requirements
  • Carry out inspections and quality checks throughout each installation
  • Identify and address surface or application issues where required
  • Work closely with builders, tilers and site supervisors
  • Follow applicable Australian Standards, construction requirements and WHS procedures
  • Maintain consistent workmanship across residential and commercial projects
  • Install wall and floor tiles across bathrooms, kitchens, floors and commercial fit-outs
  • Measure, cut and lay tiles accurately
  • Complete grouting, sealing and finishing work
  • Read and interpret plans, drawings and project specifications
  • Prepare surfaces to achieve a suitable finish for tiling
  • Ensure tiling work is coordinated appropriately with waterproofing systems
  • Maintain accurate levels, alignment, spacing and overall finish quality
  • Work safely and efficiently across different project sites

Requirements

  • Recognised Waterproofing Qualification
  • Minimum two years of relevant trade experience preferred
  • Proven hands-on experience completing waterproofing projects
  • Knowledge of waterproofing methods, construction requirements and WHS
  • Understanding of quality and compliance expectations within Australian construction
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • White Card
  • Ability to provide evidence of qualifications and previous trade experience
  • Willingness to participate in skills and employment verification
  • Eligible for employer sponsorship
  • Certificate III in Wall & Floor Tiling or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum two years of relevant trade experience preferred

  • Strong practical skills in cutting, laying, grouting and sealing
  • Good understanding of plans, measurements and project specifications
  • Knowledge of surface preparation and waterproofing compatibility
  • Strong attention to detail and finished workmanship
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • White Card
  • Ability to provide evidence of qualifications and previous trade experience
  • Willingness to participate in skills and employment verification
  • Eligible for employer sponsorship
