We are seeking a committed Dairy Farm Hand who is comfortable working with cattle and understands the discipline required to maintain a consistent daily farm routine. You will be involved across several areas of dairy production, giving you the opportunity to use and further develop your practical farming skills in an Australian workplace. From rotary dairy milking and livestock care to feeding, calf management and calving assistance, this position provides broad exposure to the everyday operation of a substantial dairy enterprise. The opportunity is intended for a worker who is reliable, self-motivated and genuinely suited to dairy farming. Applicants should be prepared for hands-on work, changing daily priorities and the practical demands of livestock production.
Requirements
- • Participate in scheduled milking activities within a 40-stand rotary dairy
- • Assist with the daily management and movement of dairy cattle
- • Handle livestock safely and according to farm procedures
- • Support routine animal health and welfare activities
- • Observe cattle and report health or behavioural concerns
- • Assist with calving cows and care for newborn animals
- • Feed and monitor calves as part of the farm's calf-rearing routines
- • Prepare and distribute livestock feed using a feed wagon
- • Assist with milking duties at another farm when required
- • Maintain clean and orderly dairy and livestock areas
- • Complete general farm work and routine property duties
- • Assist with equipment, facilities and basic farm maintenance
- • Follow workplace health, safety and animal welfare requirements
- • Communicate clearly with supervisors and other farm team members
- • Complete daily tasks according to operational schedules
