Job description
A Queensland underground mine needs a planning engineer to run its medium-term schedule.
The job is permanent and full-time, listed in Brisbane. You can work from Brisbane, fly in and fly out, or live at the mine. The site digs zinc, lead and silver and has a long life left.

Key responsibilities
- Own the medium-term plan and schedule, keeping both current and improving so production and development targets are met.
- Break Life-of-Mine and long-term strategy into practical medium-term sequences covering stope extraction, development timing, ventilation availability and infrastructure readiness, ready to feed straight into short term plans.
Requirements
- Degree-level (tertiary) qualifications in Mining Engineering or a related subject.
- Demonstrated time working in underground hard rock mining.
- Preferably, exposure to mine planning, scheduling or technical services work.
- Experience with Deswik, Surpac or equivalent planning and design tools for development planning, stope sequencing and schedule analysis.
- Strong knowledge of underground mining methods, development requirements and production sequencing.
- Able to fold geological, ventilation, geotechnical and operational constraints into practical mine plans.
- Strong analysis and problem solving to assess planning risks, spot constraints and find practical fixes.
