Key responsibilities

  • Lead care staff with the Clinical Manager for safe, effective care
  • Assess needs and plan care with staff, residents, families and the multidisciplinary team
  • Follow care plans and safe work practices to get good resident outcomes
  • Give person-centred care that respects independence, dignity and privacy
  • Track each resident's condition, report changes and act on them
  • Run initiatives that improve care quality and quality of life
  • Speak up for residents so they can make informed choices
  • Pull together assessment data for funding claims
  • Do shift handovers with other RNs and keep confidentiality, dignity and respect
  • Manage medication, infection control and WHS; join accreditation audits and stay compliant

Requirements

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (essential)
  • Registered Nurse experience, preferably in aged care
  • Has worked in a multidisciplinary team in aged care
  • Knows current aged care sector issues
  • Knows the relevant accreditation standards
  • Can lead, delegate well and drive positive care outcomes
  • Clear written and spoken communication
  • Good problem-solving and organisation
  • Keen on ongoing professional development
  • Computer skills from basic up to intermediate
