This role is suited to Registered Nurses who are confident delivering person-centred care, supporting clinical teams and taking responsibility for high standards of resident wellbeing.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate and person-centred nursing care
  • Assess residents and respond appropriately to changes in their health and care requirements
  • Coordinate clinical activities and support effective care delivery
  • Promote resident dignity, independence, comfort and wellbeing
  • Provide leadership and guidance to care staff at ward level
  • Support team members through mentoring and professional guidance
  • Collaborate with nursing, care and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate clinical notes, records and documentation
  • Apply appropriate aged care clinical practices and procedures
  • Provide and coordinate palliative care when required
  • Use knowledge of AN-ACC in supporting resident care and clinical processes
  • Communicate clearly with residents, families, colleagues and relevant stakeholders
  • Identify and escalate clinical concerns appropriately
  • Manage workload and competing priorities effectively
  • Contribute to quality improvement and positive resident outcomes
  • Participate in rostered morning, afternoon and night shifts

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA
  • Recognised nursing qualification suitable for Australian practice
  • Relevant experience in aged care or a comparable healthcare setting
  • Experience or knowledge of palliative care
  • Understanding of AN-ACC
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervision or mentoring capability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
  • Commitment to delivering respectful, person-centred care
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Current Senior First Aid Certificate
  • Current Australian driver's licence
  • Ability to meet National Police Check requirements
  • Verifiable nursing qualifications and professional experience
  • International applicants must meet applicable Australian registration requirements
  • International applicants must satisfy relevant sponsorship and visa requirements
  • Availability to work across morning, afternoon and night shifts
