Job description

Permanent, full-time Registered Nurse job in a regional Queensland aged care home, with an immediate start.

The home has 52 beds and serves a small country town less than two hours' drive from Hervey Bay. The rate is $42.13 to $56 per hour. A recruitment agency is filling the role.

Candidates who are already living in Australia may be eligible for sponsorship support through potential Subclass 407 or 485-related pathways, depending on individual eligibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care matched to what each resident needs
  • Handle medications and track residents' health
  • Create and update individual care plans
  • Supervise care staff and keep care quality high
  • Record clinical notes accurately and on time
  • Talk with residents, families and the wider health team, and follow the Aged Care Quality Standards and clinical policies
  • Spot changes in residents' conditions and respond to emergencies fast, join quality reviews and keep your skills current

Requirements

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (current)
  • At least six months' work as an RN in aged care
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Know AN-ACC funding and the Aged Care Quality Standards
  • Intermediate computer skills, confident using clinical documentation systems
  • NDIS Worker Screening clearance (valid)
  • National Criminal History Check (current)
  • Queensland driver's licence (valid)
