Job description

A not-for-profit aged care provider needs a full-time Registered Nurse in Inverell, NSW.

The essentials are short. Role: Registered Nurse. Place: Inverell, NSW. Type: full-time, on morning, afternoon and overnight shifts. Visa: 482 visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates.

You will look after residents' clinical care within your scope, follow AHPRA rules and aged care standards, and work with the Care Manager and General Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess residents fully and gather care information from them and their families
  • Help with admissions, reviews and care planning
  • Write, carry out and review care plans on a regular basis
  • Keep notes accurate and on time
  • Give direct clinical care when needed
  • Give medications safely and look after ordering, storage and records
  • Track health and wellbeing and respond to clinical changes
  • Work with families, carers, GPs and the team for good outcomes
  • Keep the home safe, respectful and person-centred
  • Help with quality, compliance and improvement tasks
  • Mentor care staff on clinical needs
  • Cover morning, afternoon and overnight shifts

Requirements

  • AHPRA registration, current
  • Residential aged care experience and/or knowledge
  • Clinical assessment skills
  • Medication management and documentation skills
  • Know aged care accreditation and compliance requirements
  • Know government standards for aged care delivery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team player in a multidisciplinary team
  • Current National Criminal History Check, or able to obtain one
  • Passion for supporting older people with dignity, choice and respect
  • Meets the legislative requirements of Aged Care Worker Screening
