Job description

A Sydney aged care home is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse.

The job is in Sydney, NSW, and it is full-time. You run clinical care for older residents, lead the carers and keep work in line with the Aged Care Quality Standards. The home is well established and puts each person at the centre of care.

This is an onshore role, open to nurses living in Australia with current AHPRA registration. Eligible applicants who meet Department of Home Affairs rules can get employer sponsorship on a 482 or 494 visa.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess residents and plan their nursing care
  • Carry out and evaluate that care
  • Give out medications
  • Monitor residents' health and wellbeing
  • Create individual care plans with the multidisciplinary team
  • Lead and support nurses
  • Follow legislation, regulations and organisational policies
  • Talk clearly with residents, families and the care team

Requirements

  • AHPRA registration (current) as a Registered Nurse: essential
  • Must live in Australia now: essential
  • Aged care or similar healthcare experience, significant, with a minimum of 1 year
  • Strong clinical skills for older adults with diverse health needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, person-centred care and ongoing professional development
