You run the clinical side of your shift and report to the Deputy Director of Nursing. Aged care background counts in your favour. Other clinical backgrounds are welcome. Key responsibilities

  • Plan, give and coordinate resident-centred nursing care
  • Assess residents, build care plans, review outcomes
  • Handle medications, Schedule 8 too, by law and policy
  • Do wound care, keep watch on health changes and escalate them
  • Supervise and delegate to Enrolled Nurses and carers; keep clinical notes and help with AN-ACC assessments
  • Join incident, infection prevention and quality work; talk with families, GPs and allied health; support Aged Care Quality Standards compliance

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Nursing or a recognised equivalent
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Strong assessment, medication and care planning skills; excellent communication, teamwork and leadership
  • Works independently, prioritises well, adapts to changing resident needs; understands aged care quality, safety and clinical governance
  • Committed to resident dignity, choice and independence; can meet aged care worker screening requirements
