Job description
Senior CNC Machinist Setter wanted in Dunedin for small-batch precision parts with tight tolerances.
The job is in Dunedin, New Zealand. Pay is $38 - $45 per hour. The roles are permanent and full-time, with day shift and night shift options. The workshop has a team of about 30 and makes high-mix, low-run components for medical, aerospace and similar sectors.
You will run mill-turn, Swiss-type and multi-axis CNC machines. Parts have complex geometries, and repeatability matters on every run. You work independently, take ownership of results and stick to set processes.
It is an accredited AEWV employer, and visa sponsorship support is a possibility for exceptional candidates who closely match the skills, experience and attributes it wants.
To move fast, have an English CV ready that lists your setup experience and the machines you run. Get a CNC setter CV ready with Build AI CV, then apply on JobFinder.

- Deburr and finish parts until they are customer-ready
- Coach newer staff, work with programmers, quality and production leaders on delivery, and push continuous improvement in machining standards
Requirements

- Skilled with precision measuring tools (bore gauges, height gauges, micrometers, calipers) and with deburring and finishing precision-machined parts
- CMM (Micro-Vu and/or Hexagon) advantageous
- CAM systems such as TopSolid, or CNC programming exposure, advantageous
- Self-motivated, works independently, still a team player
- Strong problem solver with a methodical approach to troubleshooting, plus excellent written and verbal English
