A well-established commercial services business in Queensland is seeking HVAC and Refrigeration professionals with genuine practical experience and a commitment to quality workmanship. This role offers the opportunity to bring your existing trade capability into a professional Australian environment while working across diverse commercial and industrial projects. Your background can be applied to air conditioning, refrigeration, coolrooms, freezer rooms, ventilation, chilled water systems and commercial catering equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, service and maintain commercial HVAC systems
  • Install, repair and maintain refrigeration equipment
  • Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical and refrigeration faults
  • Carry out repairs and replacements on HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Install and service coolrooms and freezer rooms
  • Work with commercial and industrial refrigeration systems
  • Install and maintain specialist ventilation equipment
  • Complete commercial kitchen exhaust and ventilation installations
  • Service and maintain commercial catering equipment
  • Assist with chilled water system installation and maintenance
  • Test, commission and assess system performance
  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications and equipment information
  • Prepare accurate service reports and job documentation
  • Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in safe working condition
  • Work effectively with supervisors, technicians and project teams
  • Follow site-specific safety procedures and Australian workplace standards
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship across all assigned projects
  • Continue developing technical and practical capabilities through workplace experience

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification or recognised trade background in HVAC, Refrigeration, Air Conditioning or Electrical
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in commercial or industrial environments
  • Genuine and verifiable employment history
  • Ability to provide supporting evidence of qualifications and trade experience
  • Practical knowledge of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret technical information and equipment specifications
  • Commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and customers
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
  • Reliable and professional approach to work
  • Willingness to adapt to Australian workplace practices
  • Commitment to ongoing technical development
  • Transferable experience from mechanical, maintenance, construction or manufacturing industries may be considered
  • Willingness to complete relevant skills and employment verification
  • Ability to meet Australian employment and visa requirements
