Job description

Experienced Coded Welders, Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers are wanted for shutdown and project crews, with the job listed in Perth.

The work is ongoing shutdown and project work at sites around Australia for the rest of 2026. The employer is an industrial engineering, fabrication, welding and maintenance services company active in Australia and overseas. Shifts run 10 to 12 hours, days and nights, on various rosters.

Three shutdowns are booked so far. Central WA, 5 to 15 November 2026. South Australia, 4 November to 2 December 2026. The Pilbara, 16 to 29 November 2026. Mobilisation starts in the coming weeks.

Key responsibilities

  • Metalwork on each shutdown: welding, cutting, grinding, gouging and forming, done to standard
  • Upkeep, fixes and modifications on plant and equipment
  • Machining with lathes, milling machines and grinders
  • Extra tasks matched to your skills, training supplied as required, across 10 to 12 hour shifts by day or night

Requirements

  • Trade certificate, Australian-recognised, if it applies to you
  • Track record on shutdowns
  • Weld test pass, if it applies to you
  • Fine with mixed rosters
  • Driver's licence, current and valid
  • Working in Confined Spaces ticket
  • Working at Heights ticket
  • Clear pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
  • Proactive team player who keeps safety standards high
