Job description
Casual Assistant Chef needed now for a Sydney pub that has just changed hands.
Location is Sydney, NSW. Pay sits at $35 per hour on a casual basis. You would cover lunch and dinner on Mondays and Tuesdays, then a lunch or a dinner shift on Saturdays and Sundays. Expect extra hours once the venue picks up.
The new owners are planning renovations across the whole hotel, more entertainment and a food-led neighbourhood and sports venue, with lunch and dinner served daily in several areas. Can you start right away? Immediate starters get strong preference. The venue may be able to offer sponsorship opportunities to the right candidate.

Key responsibilities
- Get fresh, modern pub food prepped
- Send out every dish at a consistently high standard
- Keep food quality and presentation on point
- Hold service standards each shift
- Help the Head Chef run the kitchen day to day
- Stick to food safety, hygiene and compliance rules as part of a positive, supportive team
Requirements
- Commercial kitchen background and confidence in a busy service
- Reliable and punctual with a great attitude
- Works independently yet follows the Head Chef's direction
- Proud of quality, consistent food and keen on modern pub food made with fresh produce
- Calm under pressure, good in a team, with positive energy and a strong team attitude
- Flexible for lunch, dinner and weekend services
