Full-time, permanent Caregiver job at a dementia care home in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Pay runs from $23.95 per hour at Level 1 up to $28.25 per hour at Level 4 and above. You work 30 hours a week or more. Shifts sit on a 24/7 roster. The team is small and close-knit, with strong mentoring and training.

Key responsibilities

  • Personal care: showering, dressing, eating, mobility and communication, all given in a holistic, culturally safe way
  • Care planning input and therapy plan follow-through for residents with dementia
  • Resident observation and progress reports, quick flags on any change or concern, accurate and current records
  • Backing up the registered nurses inside your scope of practice

Requirements

  • Committed to bettering elderly people's lives with kindness and empathy
  • Passionate about aged care
  • Available for any shift on a 24/7 roster
  • Caregiving experience preferred
  • Dementia care experience is a strong advantage
  • Visa support needs a Registered Nursing degree, or a Level 4+ caregiving qualification plus an International Qualification Assessment (IQA)
