Job description

Key responsibilities

  • Help people cope with overwhelming emotions and health challenges.
  • Work with complex behavioural and medical needs.
  • Keep everyone safe and encourage positive behaviour.
  • Build independence and daily living skills.
  • Assist with transport, employment, finances, meal preparation, shopping, cleaning, showering and medication, depending on each person's ability.
  • Spot risks and act calmly when things get challenging.
  • Rotate through day, evening, overnight and weekend shifts.

Requirements

  • Preferred: experience managing challenging behaviours.
  • Able to work through behaviours that can challenge.
  • Flexible shift availability.
  • Open to weekend and wakeover shifts.
  • Daily, confident and proficient use of computers and tablets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Fit enough to give physical support.
  • Full NZ driver's license.
