Job description

Full-time Caregiver job at a dementia care home in Christchurch, open to visa applicants who hold the right qualification.

This is permanent work of 30 hours or more each week. Hourly rates rise with your level, from $23.95 at Level 1 and $24.06 at Level 2 to $26.16 at Level 3 and $28.25 at Level 4 or above. The employer holds Immigration New Zealand accreditation and can sponsor an AEWV for applicants with a Registered Nursing degree, or a Level 3+ caregiving qualification plus an IQA.

You will cover personal care, input into care and therapy plans, progress notes, quick reporting of changes and support for the nurses on shift.

Key responsibilities

  • Personal care: showering, dressing, eating, moving around and communicating
  • Care planning input and therapy plans for people living with dementia
  • Progress checks, prompt reports on any change or care concern, and up-to-date records
  • Support for registered nurses within their scope of practice

Requirements

  • Caregiving experience preferred; dementia care experience a strong advantage
  • For visa support: Registered Nursing degree, or Level 3 or above caregiving qualification with International Qualification Assessment (IQA)
