You will work across CNC milling, turning and multi-axis machining, with exposure to one-off components, short production runs, complex industrial parts and repair or refurbishment work. The variety of assignments makes this a strong fit for machinists who prefer technically challenging work over repetitive production. Candidates will be assessed on the credibility of their professional experience, practical machining knowledge and ability to demonstrate the skills required for the position.
Requirements
- • Set up CNC machinery according to job requirements
- • Prove machining programs and optimise settings for accurate production
- • Operate CNC milling, turning and multi-axis equipment
- • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and dimensional requirements
- • Choose appropriate tooling, workholding and cutting parameters
- • Manufacture components to precise engineering tolerances
- • Carry out measurements and quality checks throughout the machining process
- • Identify and correct tooling, setup and machining issues
- • Use practical judgement when approaching unfamiliar or technically demanding jobs
- • Complete one-off and low-volume machining assignments
- • Work on complex and larger industrial components
- • Perform machining for repair, refurbishment and component modification
- • Monitor finished components for dimensional accuracy and quality
- • Maintain high standards of workmanship across all machining activities
- • Follow workshop safety, quality and operating procedures
- • Complete jobs efficiently while maintaining required standards
- • Assist with improving machining methods and workshop processes
- • Share practical knowledge and work cooperatively with the wider engineering tea
