Job description

A Utility Arborist is needed in New Plymouth to keep vegetation clear of powerlines across Taranaki.

Here are the main facts. The job is full time at a New Plymouth branch and pays $32 to $40 per hour. You work Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, and overtime is optional. The hiring company is a national vegetation management business.

Each day you check trees near the lines, plan and coordinate clearance jobs, and deal with line crews, clients and property owners. Training is provided and there is room to grow. Requirements

  • NZQA Level 3 or 4 in arboriculture (or equivalent)
  • Class 1 licence, at least
  • 1 year of experience at least
  • Knows arboriculture, pruning and tree identification
  • Experienced with chainsaws, pole saws, wood chippers and other hand tools
  • Physically fit for outdoor work in any weather or terrain
  • Can pass a medical
  • Can pass a drug and alcohol test
