Job description

A Queenstown vehicle rental branch needs a Customer Service / Groomer to serve customers and keep hire vehicles clean and ready.

Key facts first. Location is Queenstown, New Zealand. Pay is $26 - $28 per hour. The job is permanent and full time. Hours are 40 per week, rostered. The branch opens 8.00am to 5.00pm on weekdays and shuts at 1.00pm on Saturdays. Grooming means vehicles, not animals.

You field phone queries, advise travellers, build quotes and contracts, and groom the fleet. The team is small. Expect to help everywhere in the branch. On sponsorship, the employer would ideally hire suitable and available NZ workers. It is an Accredited Employer with Immigration NZ and can consider people who require a work visa if that appointment cannot be made.

Key responsibilities

  • Handle incoming calls with sales advice and quotes
  • Set up contracts and process transactions through to completion
  • Coordinate vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups and carry them out
  • Do the office admin and maintain customer accounts
  • Groom the rental fleet and branch vehicles to the highest standards
  • Get all necessary compliance checks done
  • Flag and escalate repair and maintenance issues, and manage maintenance and damages as required

Requirements

  • Full Class 1 Driver Licence (overseas equivalent accepted)
  • Computer skills, basic to intermediate
  • Customer-facing service experience from a previous job; ideally vehicle rental, but not essential
  • Previous grooming experience preferred, not essential
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Confident phone manner
  • Great attention to detail plus excellent time management skills
