Job description

Experienced construction professionals bring more than a job title—they bring practical knowledge, site experience and the ability to get the job done safely. We are looking for proven Drainlayers, Drainage Operators, Drainage Labourers, 20T Excavator Operators and Multi-Skilled Operators with Class 4 to join civil construction teams working on infrastructure projects across Otago, New Zealand. This is an opportunity for professionals whose skills have been built through genuine hands-on experience and who are ready to apply those capabilities in a structured New Zealand work environment. Projects can range from drainage and earthworks through to wastewater, stormwater, utilities, roading and infrastructure installation. You’ll have the opportunity to work across varied projects while developing your experience and building a longer-term career. Requirements

  • • Install stormwater and sewer pipeline systems
  • • Construct pressure and gravity drainage infrastructure
  • • Install water and wastewater infrastructure
  • • Work on wastewater pump stations and treatment facilities
  • • Assist with water treatment infrastructure installation
  • • Operate 20T excavators on civil construction projects
  • • Complete excavation, trenching and backfilling activities
  • • Operate loaders, compactors and other construction machinery
  • • Carry out PE welding when required
  • • Undertake confined-space activities in accordance with site requirements
  • • Install telecommunications and power utility infrastructure
  • • Complete concrete construction and associated works
  • • Assist with landscaping and site reinstatement
  • • Read and follow project plans, specifications and work instructions
  • • Assess site conditions and identify practical solutions to construction challenges
  • • Maintain efficient workflow and project productivity
  • • Complete work to required quality and safety standards
  • • Work effectively with supervisors, operators and other trades
  • • Follow workplace health, safety and environmental procedures
  • • Help reduce unnecessary environmental and community impacts
  • • Maintain a professional and organised approach across all work sites
