A coastal hotel in Western Australia needs a hands-on Duty Manager to lead its busy, high-performing restaurant.

The job is near Bunbury, WA. It is full-time and permanent, at $75,000 to $85,000 a year. Rosters include evenings, weekends, school holidays and public holidays. The hotel will consider sponsorship for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead front of house on every shift
  • Set the service standard for the team
  • Work with the kitchen for smooth service
  • Back the General and Operations Manager on standards and goals
  • Control stock, ordering and waste
  • Train, roster and manage staff performance
  • Manage cash and daily transactions and help with budgets
  • Track cost of goods, payroll and efficiency
  • Keep health, safety, food handling and RSA compliance on point
  • Apply venue policies and house rules, and help with local marketing and community links

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a hospitality management role
  • At least 2 years managing a restaurant
  • Hospitality management or business degree or diploma preferred (equivalent experience considered)
  • Valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate preferred
  • Approved Manager MLP1 certification preferred
  • Strong computer and POS system skills
  • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving
  • Strong customer service focus and an eye for detail
  • Works well under pressure at a fast pace and is always well presented
  • Evening, weekend, school and public holiday availability (essential)
