Job description

Earthworks Machine Operator wanted in Queenstown. Permanent, full-time, hands-on.

You dig, backfill, haul and compact, then help shape ground for retaining walls and for homes and commercial sites. Steady hours run from 30 up to a typical 50 a week, and the employer brings 25 years of contracting and a few awards.

Immigration NZ accredited employer that can sponsor work visas. New Zealand work rights are a must, either as a citizen, as a resident or on a current open work visa.

Key responsibilities

  • Run bulldozers and dump trucks with safety and efficiency
  • Run compactors and water carts with safety and efficiency
  • Excavating and filling earth, rock and other materials
  • Carting and compacting earth, rock and other materials
  • Shape and prepare sites for construction

Requirements

  • Civil construction (or similar) experience of 2 years
  • WTR endorsement and a full Class 2 licence
  • Flexible, hard-working and safety-first
  • A current open NZ work visa, or NZ citizen or resident status
  • Nice to have: experience driving trucks or other machinery, plus a Class 4 licence, compaction knowledge and NDM testing certification
